Default Vote for a FAIR album before Jan 31

Every two weeks the Folk And International Roots Album Club votes for an album that they will listen to and discuss in the coming weeks.
Anyone can vote in this poll, but if you vote, please follow through and be ready to discuss whichever album wins the poll.

Five albums to choose from here :-

Kef by Aram Bajakian (2011)

Three musicians who can`t decide if they`re a traditional Armenian wedding band, a jazz combo or a rock power trio, so they just put it all together in one album. This instrumental album is noisier and less traditional than most FAIR club nominations, but it retains just enough roots to be included here I hope.

Rock Art And The X-Ray Style by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros
( 1999 )

Can`t seem to get any image of this album to open

In a surprising change of style, JS put aside the punk fury of London`s Burning and made an excentric album of shuffling, urban reggae and folk-rock. He furthur expanded his own particular vision of the multi-cultural music scene on his next album, Global A Go Go, but song for song, I think Rock Art is stronger. Don`t dismiss these albums (as I did for years) as an exercise in musical tourism; they are much more consistant and convincing than that. And if you`re wondering if this is really FAIR music, well JS himself described this Yalla Yalla track as " an ancient British folk song - written in 1999" That`s a good enough excuse for me !
Thanks as always to the people who make the effort to share their enthusiasm for FAIR music here.

Now let`s get voting ....
