Actually, I give my mom credit for this. She loves music and has a great collection of records and CDs. My favorite artist is a tossup but some days I'd like to say Dave Matthews, who is also my mom's favorite. So there you go. Music can be in the family.
Also, live shows play a key role in my list. I never liked Justin Timberlake, Sting, or Madonna really until I saw them live. So that helps also -- live shows bring out something special and introduce you to new music, or not. In the prior case I'm usually hooked.
