Spoiler for album art:

Teenage Burnout - los (February 9, 2018)

Quote:
Josh Sinton - baritone saxophone, bass clarinet
Owen Stewart-Robertson - guitar
Tony Falco - drums

Improvisational free jazz from a trio whose web presence appears to be limited to self-promotion. Hopefully, this recording picks up some steam. Their sound mostly stems from the Ornette tradition. I especially like the discipline on display by Stewart-Robinson. He plays free JAZZ. No funk/punk fusion bull****. He molds his playing to the style and doesn’t let the nature of the instrument override the mood or the sound. Not the spiciest or heaviest chops but good music that successfully accomplishes what it sets out to do. From the notes it doesn’t appear like these guys are working together regularly. That’s too bad. I think there’s more potential here.

Edit: a couple weeks later I found this review on another record involving Josh Sinton
