^ TBH, I would dispute this suggestion. It's true that one time the DCF "pushed" the Beatles off the number one singles chart, but only after the Beatles had held the position for about 6 weeks; i.e. everyone had bought so many copies of the Beatles single that it was inevitable that sales would drop off.
