Post The Flaming Lips: With A Little Help From My Fwends

I have mixed feelings on this album.

I loved when The Flaming Lips did Dark Side Of The Moon live. But now they are doing another trippy album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. (Obviously)

The album is kinda a mess. The song "With A Little Help From My Friends" has loud megaphone and it kinda ruins the song. "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" has one of the worst parts of any song cover. They blast the whole chorus with a distortion sound which startled me when I first heard it. Parts like these do impact the album, because it happens a lot. I was also wearing headphones, so it was worse.

The album does have good instrumentation and vocals. Miley Cyrus is actually kind of a fit for the album and Dr. Dog is really good! Of course, The Flaming Lips themselves are great.

When it comes to the songs, "Getting Better" is my favorite. It is a lot calmer than other songs in term of instrumentation.

The Flaming Lips did a good job on this album. My only problem is a lot of "sensory overload." (Blasting synth and stuff like that.)

The album needs to be heard by any Beatles fan. Just be prepared for some crazy parts.
