rather than locking the lounge
i dare you to try and stay off the sex talk for a day
no sexual references, anything
i personally think you can't do it
sex has become the number one thing you people talk about on MB

^That's terrible!! Sex, a no.1 subject? *gasp* hehe
If we band every member that spoke sh!t we'd have no members, myself included. We all have our stupid days, and if this place was no fun, why visit?

Isn't there a way to like close the lounge when the post ratio tips too much in the lounges favour for each member seperately, so that people are forced to post elsewhere? just a thought, probably wouldnt work, i mean i like the idea of being able to post about things off topic from music now and again but only in moderation if it can be helped...

Agreed. ^
Providing of course they follow the rules.

The Lounge is an important part of a forum community.
It's one of the reasons why people return here.
It gives members the opportunity to get to know the other members better, while posting on these boards.
MB is not just a message board.
It's what helps to make MB a community...which it is.

Closing the Lounge would be detrimental to MusicBanter.

Remember people this is a music forum.
Look,I think most people in the lounge are just bored sociopath trogladytes but the bottom line is this, The Lounge is a lightning rod for stupidity and frankly, if its collected there, its not spilling out into the 3 music posts that are made a day. Don't be a fool, closing the lounge will make the actual music forums less music related.

And look, as someone who has been here far too long, and as someone who championed this same opinion before, before we start jumping on the "yeah, it is a music forum, lets start making some posts. If you post 10 well written or interesting music posts then start bitching. I don't mind the sentiment, but lets get real hiu, can you really complain about who is ruining the forum when you've been banned a couple of times.

Think about it folks

It`s all about taking responsability.

You want more posts in the music forum , closing the lounge will do f*ck all.
You want people to stay then treat people better & have a bit of respect for them , don`t go around calling them retards, idiots ,you do this and then you wonder why your music posts don`t get any replies.
Don`t get all pissy because someone disagrees with your own high & mighty opinion. There is way too much namecalling & abuse on this forum. And the main forums are suffering for it.
This place is what YOU make it , if it`s going down the sh*tter then maybe some of you should start looking at yourselves rather than pointing the finger all the time.

I've always hated the lounge, that you probably know, but closing it will have a detrimental effect on the "music" sections of this forum. People naturally make affiliations and freindships so they are going to talk and joke. Keeping it in the lounge will leave other sections free for music discussion... well... that the theory.
