I know. I usually go to read what I figure is lyrics, and I can't tell whether the author wrote it as a poem, or wrote it as lyrics.

Well, it doesn't really make much of a difference, if they say "heres a recording" or "im going to put it to music" then you can treat it like a song, I usually just treat everything like poems unless stated otherwise and critique the writing.
