A forum for 'Tours' and 'New releases'? (hardcore, indie, genre)

Hmm thought it might be a good idea to have a forum where people can talk about upcoming tours (and past ones), exchange info on gigs and what not? Might also be an idea to have a forum named 'new releases', as it can be a pain going through the tedious threads in various forums. Better if they were bunched together in one arena so to speak. These forums would appeal to fans of all genres obviously. Indie moshers, grunge balls, goth kids etcetera and everyone would just have to try getting along and mingle in the name of kewl music

Ok so my vision is a little idealistic but what the hell thought i'd give it a go.

I don`t really think there`s a need for it.

If I hear a new release that I think is really good i`d rather start a thread about it so people can see it more clearly. I find if you do that in an existing thread with loads of replies it just gets lost in the clutter.

Well I thought this idea for a forum of tours and new releases was a much more practical and viable than the one being discussed regarding the tedious HARDCORE forum. It's ok, give it time, you will see my genius some day

There wouldnt be much point though... For tours, everyone on here lives in comlpetely different places anyway, so a tours forum would only help certain people. And as for 'new releases', I suppose we could have a thread that people just check up on every so often... The only thing is I doubt you'd be able to fill a forum with just tours and new releases.

I made a thread about new releases a while back and a very few amount of people bothered to post in it, then it died on its ass like all of my threads. I like the idea of having a section for it somewhere, but an entire forum for it probably would just get spammed to death and wouldn't inform people as much as individual threads for a respective album release.

A section for tours would be a great idea but Hookers is right in saying it would be spammed like hell, particularly by all those people who sign up to promote their band would start spamming promoting their gigs. However if we put Urban's suggestion about a minimum number of posts before starting threads it would be easier to sift through. New releases, that would become far too difficult to read. New releases are discussed fine as it is within other threads I think.
