Official band/artist thread

Are there any requirement for an official band/artist thread ?

We have a policy here of trying to stick to one thread per artist and we ask that our members do a search before starting a new artist thread. If you find that one already exists, please post in it instead of starting a new thread. On the occasions where someone starts a new thread about an artist who already has a thread dedicated to them, we merge the old thread with the new. Those older thread are often labelled "The Official..." retroactively by mods just to help people realize that that's the thread they should be posting in if they want to talk about that band.
