Default New Journal on Covid: Need your help

I suppose it was always inevitable that I'd do this, so probably nobody will be surprised to hear that, among a bunch of new journals being launched next year, I'll be starting one concentrating on the way Covid-19 has changed the world over the last two years.

In the completely embryonic stages right now - I only decided to go for it tonight - but I would appreciate input from anyone who feels like doing so. We've all been affected by the pandemic, even if it's only that it's inconvenienced us. Some of you may have suffered losses, but obviously, and I'm sure I don't need to say, you share what you want to share and no more. People may have very personal stories they'd rather keep personal, and that is of course your right and I would never ask you to share anything you weren't comfortable with doing so.

It doesn't all have to be doom and gloom. I'm sure some of us have stories about how we coped with the breaking news, how it affected our lives, our work, and how we dealt with being locked down. The news was full of stories of human courage and kindness and perseverance as well as the dark stuff, and any stories you have of that nature will of course be very welcome, though I won't be shying away from the scarier side of what we've all gone through, and continue to do so.

For anyone in the USA - that's a lot of you - the pandemic dovetailed with the election and later attempt at insurrection, the rise from the shadows of overt racism and blatant murder, and the emergence of a whole new reality shared by about fifty percent of your country. Any stories, therefore, that you have of that type, particularly if they tie in with Covid - standing for hours to vote and worrying whether the people around you were vaccinated, anything like that - again all welcome.

I don't, to be honest, expect a lot of uptake. If this could be an almost collaborative effort that would be great, but I'm under no illusions. I've tried things like this before and been deafened by the resultant silence, and if I have to write this entirely from research and my own memories I will certainly do so. But it would be nice to have other angles on it, other points of view, other experiences. Up to you, but it's out there if you want to take part.

No hurry; I don't intend to really start posting this probably till later next year, depending on how it goes, and as I say I have a whole lot of new journals I'm working on for release in 2022 anyway. Anyone interested in contributing can post questions here, PM me or email me. Names and details can be changed if you want; you can write your own pieces to be posted in the journal or give me the information and let me write them. Whatever you want to do.

We've all lived - and continue to live - through this, and it's pretty much a once in a lifetime occurrence that I believe should be chronicled, and there's nobody better here at chronicling things than me, I think you'll agree. You don't? Well sod ya: I'm doing it anyway.

Cheers
TH
