I started with Yeti, but you can't really go wrong with any of their early albums. Wolf City might be a good place to start... it's slightly more accessible than the rest IMO.

If "accessible" means it sounds more like typical 70s rock it may not actually be a very good place for me to start. Is that what Yeti is like? What would you say is their most interesting sounding album?

Yeti is an awesome album, rest assured. That's where I started listening to them. Mind you, I haven't heard too much by them, but I fell in love with Yeti as soon as I heard it.

I'm starting to work my way through the albums mentioned in Cope's book plus a few others.

Timothy Leary & Ash Ra Tempel was just strange , but in an entertaining & compelling way. The first track is just bizarre but I loved it.

I listening to Cluster 1 & 2 , and it went a bit over my head. If it was designed to make you feel like your floating in space they did a bloody good job of it, not sure it's the sort of thing i'd give repeated plays though. I still have Zuckerzeit & Sowiesoso to check out.

I always assumed Agitation Free's Malesch album was on the list , but it isn't. Shame really because I thought it was a phenomenal album.

Popol Vuh's Affenstunde and Guru Guru's UFO are up next.

I agree about the Agitation Free album. I was very impressed. I will have to pick up the Julian Cope book sometime.

Just a few more suggestions-

Osmose by Annexus Quam, Tips Zum Selbstmord by Necronomicon & Dzyan's Electric Silence. I would especially recommend Electric Silence. Spacey, Jazzy, psychedelic, ambient...Everything i could ask for. Very atmospheric as well. I will try and up that album if none of you are able to find it.
Other than those, the 50 posted on the first page basically more of less covers what I listen to(although I've yet to check out Faust). Excellent list! Ash Ra Tempel especially are awesome.

Electric Silence - Download

Pros: krautrock with a lot of diversity. Has some middle eastern/Indian influences as well.

Cons: No vocals but that's not a big deal for me. Doesn't feel any different from those with vocals.
