I do love the guy but I do agree upon his overaccreditation.
Apart from 'Adult Themes For Voice' those are all Zorn projects with Patton as sideman.

and as for Adult Themes it's a flat knockoff of 'A Capella'.

I like Patton, as well, just saying.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

This is true. Perhaps Zorn brings out the best in Patton, the same can be said for several musicians he has worked with like Uri Caine or Dave Lombardo.

I checked out that "A Capella" album, and though ATFAV moderately mirrors it in theory, I found it to be a heavier and stranger album overall. Just my opinion though, maybe I listened to the wrong tracks.

Another dank avant garde band is Zu.

I just listened to Gorguts' Obscura. I know it's a metal album, but it deserves to be mentioned as avant-garde, IMO.

And after digesting it for a day, I feel like my musical pallet has been cleansed. I've noticed that the songs and artists that I've listened to hundreds of times now sound different and I'm picking up things I've never heard before. I was blown away by the bat sh*t insanity of the album itself. But taking into account how it has changed how I listen to the rest of the library, it is absolutely amazing.

It may not be the favorite album ever (4.2 our of 5, IMO) but it has a chance to go down as one of the most important albums I've ever heard.

Vastly overrated, hardly Avant-garde. Clearly IDM.

I've been listening to this myself recently, and holy hell, is it good. I'd stretch to a 4.5, it really is one of the most interesting and satisfying metal albums I've heard yet.

I wish, I've seen video of them live and they do in fact seem brilliant live. They have not come to my country for a few years and they are far over due to play anywhere in the US.
