Six Organs of Admittance

I downloaded Dark Noontide, giving it a spin now.

It's a really good album, there are many subtleties and intricacies (sp?). I thought it was a bit calm for a bit long around songs 3 and 4 (I think that was them) but track 7, Khidr and the Fountain, is an amazing song, followed by another awesome track in A Thousand Birds. Chasny is a sweet guitarist/writer.

If there's a rough things might be well iffy. These faces are a little bit hard, know what I mean, a little bit of oof, have some of that my son, bosh, sorted, ta ta, got me, so be clever. Good, now shut it!

Hey Merkaba, if you could find me Shcool of the Flower, it would be very much appreciated.

Basically, Six Organs are my favourite band just now.

I like almost everything they've released...some of the long drone trax are expendable but for the most part they're always awesome. School of the Flower is my favourite album by them.

What I really love, Chasny writes intimate songs, with can veer from intimate, strummed psych-folk stuff to full-on psychedelic freakouts. The music has a sense of mystery and transcendence, I can't explain it. When I listen to them, I just want to sit alone in a wooden cabin in a misty forest, and get high.

Comets on Fire are great too.

You're lucky..

I missed Six Organs becuz they were playing the same nite as Sonic Youth on their Daydream Nation tour...I later found out that Ben et all had started the show later to allow the Sonic Youth fans time to get to the venue after SY finished, where they got in for half price if they showed their Sonic ticket (same promoters or sumthin). I was gutted to miss it, especially as I also found out that among others, Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon and Mark Ibold went along to catch the end of Ben's set. ****SAKE I COULDA MET THEM ALL!

I kinda like the new album,

but I really think the production seems to be lacking.

Isn't the album just too quiet (even during "loud" parts) ?
