"Can you remember all the excuses that came out for The Stone Roses and Elastica when it took them over five years to follow up their debut albums? As good as they are have you ever stopped and thought, why does it take Massive Attack longer and longer to record new albums, surely they just need to sit down and crack on?

If you’ve had those thoughts then I think I may well have found the perfect artist for you.

His name is Adrian Killens and while he does perform as part of a three piece group, he’s flying solo on his latest project…which rather ambitiously is called the ‘Song A Week’ project and in the style of a Ronseal advert it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Yes, shattering the myth that writers block is either a myth or a disease suffered by perfectionists, Aidy (as his website calls him) is putting out one new song every Friday for a whole year….and if you are thinking “no, he’ll never do it”, it’s too much as well as working full time etc….well you’re wrong as he’s already a quarter of a way through the year and hasn’t missed one yet.

So head over to his site and sample the many and varied tracks, my favourites are 3 Monkeys, Guns and Washing Machine although I must say that for the title alone Joy Division In A Spanner Factory really should be up there!"
