Now i`ll try & explain this as best I can , I just don`t like 'technical' rock music. I don`t know why that is. I can listen to other genres where the musicians are good in that way , but for me personally it doesn`t work in rock music. Now if you want to listen to a band because they are like that then fine.But if you are trying to convince me that someone is better than a bone fide rock icon JUST because of that then I will laugh in your face every time.

It's not really a matter of opinion that technical skill is more important than image, it just is.
And rock shouldn't be technical?... Rock is a very diverse genre, there is no should or shouldn't in rock... Even so, while Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino may not be virtuosos in the technical sense... They were still incredibly capable musicians who were hard to intimate.... Dispite what they say, all rock n roll didn't begin as basic DIY nonsense songs, so to say thats all rock music is meant to be is just ridiculous.
