Can't believe nobody's said "1983...(A Merman I Should Turn To Be)" or "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" yet. "Voodoo Chile" is amazing as well (the fifteen-minute jam, not the five-minute "Slight Return", though that's amazing as well). Also love...well, pretty much the entire Blues album. Especially "Voodoo Chile Blues" and the electric "Hear My Train A-Comin'". The latter rivals "Machine Gun" from Band Of Gypsys for Jimi's greatest solo, IMO.

As far as his earlier material goes...hm, guess my favourites would have to be "The Wind Cries Mary", "Are You Experienced?", "Little Wing", "May This Be Love" and "Bold As Love".

My fav would have to be: 'Bold as Love'. The part at the end when they all play in different time signatures is awesome. Plus I love that analog tape flanging, great sound.
Axis is such a great album that seemes secondary to alot of people. Only 'Band of Gypsies' is on the turntable more in my listeningroom.
