Word, we don't have a prog rock forum, and the rock/metal forum has become a metal version of "what bands are really emo" (substitute "emo" for "grindcore" or "black metal") like this forum is/was. Thank your lucky stars that we can all pretty much agree on Mars Volta's greatness and save the bickering for another thread. Now that emoiscool is gone, i mean.

Honestly I hated them with a passion. After their demise, and some conditioning with Mars Volta and Sparta, I've come to realize that ATDI was the better outfit of the three. MV never really struck me as 'genius' or 'great', but I think they deserve most of the credit they receive. And personally, I don't really listen to the three that much at all (every now and then, I'll play 'Star Slight', probably ATDI's shortest song). Really, my opinion here is unnecessary and should be ignored.
