mars volta are a great band and seeing them live is an experiance. cedric has the best voice and it has come a long way since at the drive in. how can you call this mainstream?

The Mars Volta are far from mainstream.Huge amount of energy on stage aswell.Its quite a story aswell,the concept for there album...the Rat poison addict and artist.Check out the video for Televators....one of the greatest videos of all time as far as Im concerned.

^ agreed the televators video is one of the best ive ever seen. The mars volta is amazing as is there new cd. and if any of you have comcast digital cable... if you go under music and then to concerts you can see an awesome 80 min concert of them

^ i was watching that haha. But it was only 25 for me...booo. Anywho, I'm not a huge huge fan. I don't own any albums, but they are definitly good.

this cd is going to be a 77 minute long song. just the one song. this should be awsome i cant wait to hear it. iv seen them live 3 times now and each time all the do is come out on stage and play. one of the best bands i have ever seen live.

Really? I thought they were one of the worst I've ever seen, but each to their own.

I loved the last record, hopefully this one will be as good, although I fear with this format they'll have disappeared up their own arses.
