Essentially, one thing Muse can probably be credited with having, at the end of the day, is their own sound. It just doesn't sound that good.

I can see where the Radiohead references come from, but I agree that Queen is probably the band which Muse most closely resembles. The theatrical stadium rock style, the vocal style, a piano playing frontman - they're both poppy prog bands with epic stylings and both have achieved mainstream success. Both have their more metal moments too - Stone Cold Crazy and say, Assassin.

I like Muse. I'm not mad about them, but I do enjoy them and they put on a brilliant show when I saw them at the Big Day Out in '07.

Apparently they're brilliant live, but I've yet to see them. I really wish I could though.

I love Muse. I think they have a pretty unique sound (they obviously have their influences, but don't all bands?) plus Bellamy's falsetto range is incredible. They're good musicians, great at writing catchy yet thoughtful music and can use a variety of styles without it sounding like a trainwreck.

Muse are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. The first time I saw them was at a festival, V2001 and it was just by chance as they were on after JJ72 and Texas were on the other stage at the same time so I hung around to watch them. It was the day before Origin Of Symmetry came out if I remember rightly.

Muse are still releasinfg good music. Black Holes and Revelations was a good album, there were some decent tunes on it. However they have already hit their peak when Origin Of Symmetry was released and I don't see them releasing anything as good as that again.

The worst record was Absolution by far. I very rarely listen to it but when compared with other releases around its time it's still a good record. Its Muse after all.

I have unbelievable jealousy towards you.

Honestly I don't think Muse have a bad album yet. All four sounds thematically different to me, while still retaining their general sound of course. Origin of Symmetry, I think, is by far their most complex record in terms of everything. I struggle to decide on a favourite though. Black Holes & Revelations is a great album, plus I think Absolution is probably their most well known.

Stockholm Syndrome is definitely my favourite Muse track, closely followed by Citizen Erased.

The only good thing they've ever done that I'm aware of is that end riff in "Knights Of Cydonia". And it's only good because it sounds like QOTSA.

This band rules. I really want to see them live, I've heard nothing but, "They are the greatest show I've ever seen." So I really want to go. Plus their last album was amazing.

Absolution is their best known yet I dont think its the airplay that made me instantly bored with that album. I just find it underwhelming. very good record, but Muse have produced better I feel. Three times.

Citizen Erased is my favourite Muse track too. I love very nearly everything about Origin Of Symmetry.

You should listen to Stockholm Syndrome. It has one of the coolest guitar riffs of recent years and is also one of the heaviest endings ever.
