He's not the be all end all to the music industry, because he's never really been apart of the industry. Bob Dylans influence cannot be fathomed, and so, while no one called him the be all end all, its very debatable that he is.
And I operate under certain assumptions, like "there are exceptions to every rule" so I don't give a rats ass if a hand full of teens on these boards claim to like 60's bands which somehow makes you musically adept, because for every one of you there are countless teenage meatheads who don't give the time of day to music that is timeless.
