Mana is AMAZING. "Sigue Lloviendo" is absolutely perfect in every way.

Default Una Palabra - Carlos Varela

Una Palabra - Carlos Varela, This is one of the most beautiful songs I have honestly ever heard. Although I do not speak spanish, I was simply captivated by the vocalist. I discoverd 'Una Palabra' on the movie, (Man On Fire) - starring: Denzel Washington. The last sountrack at the end of the movie. Since, I have translated the lyrics to english. But the beauty of the song remains in the original spanish version. I would advise anyone that loves good music to give it a listen. ENJOY!

Let's see....I have plenty of Spanish artists...Hmm.

Alejandro Sanz (kinda pop-ish, I like his voice)
Andrea Bocelli (he's Italian, but does songs in Spanish as well)
Chayanne (Puerto Rican pop singer, kinda a salsa thing going on too)
Circo (Spanish rock. I especially love "La Apuesta Al Corazon")
Elvis Crespo (merengue)
Enrique Iglesias (a lot of pop, sensual songs)
Eros Ramazzotti (again, he's Italian, and does pop songs in Spanish)
Ha-Ash (2 girls sing, its Mexican pop country)
JD Natasha (more Spanish pop)
Julieta Venegas (She's from Spain...I love her songs. The lyrics are quite good)
La Secta (Spanish rock. They've done a few remixes with reggaeton artists too)
Laura Pausini (yet another Italian singer singing in Spanish)
Luis Fonsi (quite the romantic...I like his songs)
Menudo (one of the original boy bands...they've made a newer band with the same name, I hear?)
Motel (Spanish rock. "Nada es como Ayer" is one of my favorites)
Soraya (slower pop)

Hope that's a good enough list.

Default Latin Music Favorites

Well, this thread has not really been about "Spanish music" but rather about "Latin music" in general. So here are some of my favorites:

Salsa - there are so many, but Adolescent's Orquesta, N'Klabe, Sonora Carruseles & Pedro Conga have so many good ones
Merengue - Rikarena, Juan Luis Guerra
Bachata - Aventura, Monchy y Alexandra
Latin rock - Mana, Santana
Reggaeton - Daddy Yankee, Ilegales

Many of you mentioned Juanes. I recently wrote an article on him for the Latin music site that I edit - see the link in my signature below if you are interested.

One more thought: Does anyone else think that Latin music deserves its own category in the forum?!

There isn't enough interest to justify a Latin subforum. This person wanted a salsa subforum, but you can see what happened there... I suppose for now, most Latin music could go in this section.

Anyway, I've never checked out much Latin music except for Deodato (Latin funk jazz kind of music)... and I also have some Sonora Carruseles sitting on my music drive. I did always enjoy the Latin style drumming of Martin Lopez though.
