Do you live near any Middle Eastern restaraunts? Lebanese, Persian? Whenever I've been into restaraunts run by people from the middle east I always hear great music. It might be an idea to pop in next time you pass one and ask them what CDs they're playing, who they're by etc. Actually, I think I might do that too.

listen to Indian Flute, by Timbaland. Great song. And if you can get the video somewhere i'd reccommend that, hella sexy ladies in it.

If you're interested in "Islamic" music, then probably the most pleasant modern "Islamic" music I've heard are the anthems performed by some Sufi groups in praise of their saints. The best I've heard is of the type where the only instruments used at all are drums. You'd think that'd make the tracks bland, but in fact the vocal work is often so strong that it more than makes up for it.

If you're still around and interested, or if anybody is, I could probably find some direct links to downloads.

Hello,

Do you mean real islamic (=religious) music or did you mean oriental/arabic music?
I can recommend lots of great oriental artists, such as Hossam Ramzy, Mohammed Abdel Wahab or the amazing Fairouz. This isn't religious music, but traditional arabic music.
