Default Japanese Music

I listen to a lot of Japanese music, generally what I hear at the beginnings of Anime. I'm looking for more japanese music, a-la Suara, Kawada Mami, ect.

Thanks!

I love J-rock! My favorite bands/artists are X Japan, An Cafe, Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois, Miyavi, and Gackt. I just got X Japan Best ~Fan's Selection~ today. Art of Life is such an epic, amazing song. ^_^

what do you mean by japanese music tho. a lot of japanese music is not culture-specific at all and is just rock or pop or punk or electronica or whatever.

that's pretty much all the Japanese music you need (off top of my head). Get some Merzbow too if you're looking for noise (lol like you are) and get some Fu'ck on the Beach if you feel a sudden craving for thrashcorecrap.

I don't know many japanese bands (that list looks worthy of checking out but my favourite that I've heard is The Pillows, just checked their wiki page and noticed that they have done work with anime:-
The Pillows - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Out of about 6 albums of theirs that I've heard the one that is the most inviting is 'Happy Bivouac (1999)', check it out!
Another good japanese band that hasn't been mentioned yet is Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, they broke up in 2003 but released alot of good material mostly around 2000.
