Default Music from Brazil

Hi all - first post!

I've been listening to a lot of Brazilian music recently. They have an amazing musical history there, so much more to it than just The Girl from Ipanema! I've been mostly listening to classic stuff like Elis Regina, Chico Buarque, Secos & Molhados, Novos Baianos, Os Mutantes, etc..

Any other fans out there? I'm always on the lookout for recommendations though, if anyone can help out?

Os Mutantes sound interesting. Can't say I'm an expert but I like Dos Cafundos. They aren't classically Brazilian though.

Yeah you are right Brazilian music has its own charm and melody. I too prefer to listen Brazilian music but not often just according to my mood. Elis Regina and Chico Buarque are just awesome to enjoy.

I'm quite fond of Brazilian singer & songwriter Joyce. Great music to listen to during summer

Here's a song from one of my favorite albums, Feminina from 1980 :

Hey stp, if you liked Dos Cafundos, you might also like Binario. They're on Spotify, if you've got it.

There's this new Brazilian band called Sexy Fi with an amazing album. They used to be called Nancy and one of their best songs is from that time

I'm new here so can't post links, but check them out on YouTube or Spotify. I think they're also on Soundcloud.

I'm just gonna put up some Brazilian music that probably no one will like but me, just for my own personal amusement.

erm, Sepultura or Ratos de Porao ?
No, very remotely related to brazilian folk.

The first who comes to mind is Milton Nascimento :

Djavan :

Elizeth Cardoso :

Sagrado Coraçao da Terra (the incredible symphonic prog rock band lead by violinist extraordinaire Marcus Viana) :

with Andre Matos of Angra :

There isn't any other thread for Brazilian music?
