i searched for a thread on algerian music but couldn't find one so i thought i'd start one myself! now most people who are fans of world music are familiar with rai, but there's so much more to algerian music than rai. i actually prefer the chaabi style. rai is awesome, yah but it's not the only type of music to come out of algeria!

i like dahmane and his son kamel el harrachi is a great musician as well. although he's probably not as musically gifted as his father was, i do prefer his vocals.
