Not just talking about gay couples here.
Once again, I don't personally condone this behaviour, homophobia is ignorant and plain wrong, I just don't think it should be illegal.
so basically you disagree with the fact that the civil rights movement forced businesses to serve black people and white people the same?

On the note of this, when did marriage become a right? It's a Christian service, so why are gays even in the discussion.

the problem with americans is they've been led to believe freedom is the cure-all for everything. freedom isn't just something that just exists in and of itself. freedom is administered in responsible doses at varying intervals by the state.

cry about it all you like, at the end of the day the truth is people need to be told what to do by other people who are holding weapons for things to function even half-way orderly.

I always thought it was more about giving black people access to public institutions like schools and universities.
In that case laws against discrimination are absolutely the right thing.

No Chula, I'm not "cool" with it, I find it terrible and disgusting.
Just not sure laws against bigotry actually fight it, if some racist or homophobic ******* doesn't want to serve you, he'll find a way not to or to do it as ****ty as possible.

I think that with this controversy it's really testing which freedoms are more important than the others. Is it better to have the freedom to be able to buy a cake or to have the freedom to not make a profit by refusing to sell a cake because you're jealous of their sex life?

i dunno man i think the general consensus is that the civil rights movement worked

i mean i haven't been to any stores that only serve white people since i've been here, and i've been living in the south for a good 2-3 years now
