"electronica" ahahahahaahahahhahahahahaha please, everyone, stop using this term. it is a meaningless blanket term, like "techno". here are some of my favorite edm-related bands electro: boys noize chromeo cicada (their new album Maladies is awesome and available for free download from their site) en masse LO-FI-FNK mr. flash mstrkrft muscles neon neon para one riot in belgium shy child simian mobile disco surkin todosantos tussle van she the whip yuksek electroclash: the faint fischerspooner men, women, & children robots in disguise to my boy electro-rock: datarock ez3kiel the mae shi mgmt the teenagers the uniques whitey zucchini drive stuff i have tagged simply as "electronic" cause i am too lazy to specify: chromatics cornelius dan deacon dat politics electronicat flevans goodbooks holy **** junior boys kaos kid alex people press play the presets indietronic: apes & androids booka shade the books broadcast caribou electric president lullatone montag the octopus project styrofoam that should give you something to work with

I enjoy Autechre. Sometimes they can be cold and barren, and at other times, they have a fairly warm sound. Get Chiastic Slide.

That'll be a good show. I saw Holy F'uck supporting Deerhoof last year, they were absolutely fantastic live and so I checked their record out and yeah...really good band. A Place to Bury Strangers are also sweet, although they certainly do borrow A LOT of influence from The Jesus and MAry Chain's Psychocandy. But together that'll be a brilliant show.

i've been debating whether to see autechre on april 14. i have heard they are really great live, and would love to see them, but the tickets are $18
