Default Squarepusher

I'd love to hear peoples views on Thomas 'Squarepusher' Jenkinson - positive and negative. He's my favourite musician but none of my friends really like his music...

Goodness, I can't believe there wasn't a thread about him already.

He at one time was one of my favorite musicians, and he's still one of my favorites in the electronic genre. But he's fallen off recently, IMO, or I'm just not into it anymore. I have great appreciation for the first 3/4 of his career though. After that there has been some good stuff but less consistency.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I like to think his more recent stuff is just a phase. Id love to hear more albums along the lines of ultravisitor and music is rotted one note but none of his albums are really alike. That's why I think his style will change again. Ultravisitor altered my entire view of music but shobaleader one would never have done that. Its not bad music but its nothing special either. Theres nothing mindblowing, memorable or unique about it. I really hope he produces something more creative in the future.

Just started listening to Squarepusher just because of this thread.

I really like what I've discovered so far!

His earlier work is great, especially Music is Rotted One Note. That album is genuinely one of my favourite Warp releases.

MIRON is my joint favourite with Ultravisitor. To my mind the album is auditory graffiti. Both albums are brilliant in that they sound so freeformed but are actually very artificial.

Prefer his stuff as Chaos AD if I'm honest, Buzz Caner.

He's sweet. I'm not a huge fan of most DnB, but he's just fantastic to listen to.
