Default Are you into films as much as you are into music?

For me the split is 50/50. I own about 600 dvds, and I seem to go through phases of watching lot's of films and then going a couple of weeks without watching them.

i'm as serious about movie collecting as I am music. I think the two mediums go hand in hand. Most people I know who love their music, love their films.

So any views?

I've got about 20 movies on Dvd, but only ones I really like (my girlfriend brought a big stack of 40-50 home from China but they don't count, because she only got them 'cause they were a dollar each) but most movies I find horribly boring. I collect TV shows on dvd (Family Guy, Scrubs, Young Ones, Babylon 5, The Critic, Alias, Transformers, Robotech, etc...) I think I prefer them because I don't need to commit 2 straight hours just to watch some. Overall though, I'd play at least 10 cd's for every Dvd I put in the machine.
Talking about movies though, Anybody seen the French film "Man Bites Dog"? Awesome, awesome, scary, hilarious movie.

I love movies but I'll never get the same kind of satisfaction out of a great movie as I get out of a great album... but then on the other hand I've never listened to an album that made me reconsider life to the extent that some movies have. Music is my true love... but film is great too.

As far as movie collecting goes, though, there can't be more than ten movies in this world that I would watch more than twice... most movies just kind of lose their effect after the first time you watch 'em.

I've got about 350-400 copied movies.

After learning I could make my own DVDs, buying them just seems foolish.

You're watching the wrong movies.

Or maybe you're just a lame-o head.

I hear ya brother, for me it's also 50/50...sometimes I go through phases of intense music listening and neglect my movie watching, other times it's the other way around. I'm actually a member of a movie forum and am just as active there as I am here...

If I had the money, my movie collection would be a lot bigger than it is right now (about 90 titles), but I'm just getting started on downloading them and making the covers myself (with my sister). They look even better selfmade! Crisp new... *shallow materialist*Plus you get a whole new level of satisfaction when making something yourself rather than buying it.
