Them and the Birthday Party are both really good bands, I have several of their albums and some live bootlegs too.

Default Why?

I cant understand the fascination with Nick Cave. He tries to present himself as a big band/alternative/dark poetic type, but his attempts are tragically pathetic. His lyrics are weak and simplistic and although he does have good musicians, there work is drowned out by his voice (or lack of) which is irritating. This is just my opinion and I am open to enlightenment but I would suggest you all go and listen to some Leonard Cohen and see how its really done.

I especially like "The Ship Song", "Into My Arms" and Cave's duet with Johnny Cash "I'm so lonely I could cry".
By the way did you see Cave's debut as a screenwriter "The Proposition"? Awesome...

Love Nick Cave.

Asbolutely dig everything that guy's done so far.

And hey, I like Leonard Cohen, too.

As a writer, they're essential listens to my creative process.

I really like everything I've heard by them so far (From Her To Eternity, Kicking Against The Pricks, Henry's Dream, Let Love In, The Boatman's Call).

So I'm a slow moving dinosaur in a world of ****ed out dragonflies, but I somehow slept through all the obvious signs that I should listen to this band. I heard Metallica cover "lover man" and I loved it. I heard Lime-tree Aubur on Last FM and I loved it.

Tonight I finally got around to digging some of this stuff up to see what Nick Cave and the Bad seeds were all about...Holy ****.

Can you guys please leave me your top ten favorites. I need to sit with a dose of his music for a week. its like Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen asked Frank Zappa to be the Surrogate mother.

I heard a snippet of:
Dig Lazarus, Dig
Papa won't leave ya, Henry and I had a Dream, Joe
Muddy Water from Kicking the Pricks

All of it just screamed to me that I'd been missing something too good for words. I'm late, but I'm here. What should I make an effort to hear...please.
