Scarred for life (alternative, rock, beatles, pink floyd, pearl jam)

I think I have like 150-200 from my Grandma, once I get them all from her house (she basically forces anything of hers that I have interest in on me, not that I'm complaining. In fact, that's also where the record player itself came from), although those are basically all classical, some broadway mixed in. Then there's maybe 30 or so between my parents' and the few that I've bought. Player needs a new belt, though, and I still need to go get the receiver. Stupid technology, nothing works these days.

No music my parents played stuck with me.
The biggest influence on me was my eldest sister, she used to bring people round and listen to Soul music, our place was an open house back then and always busy.
Her friends were into Northern Soul (rare soul that never made it, from the smaller labels, such as Shrine, Okeh etc), they used to move the dining room table and practice dance moves on the kitchen lino.
It captivated me and the music has been with me ever since. It's a passion and an obsession.

I got my love for CCR, Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles from grandma.

My mother listened to Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

My father listened to an "oldies and today" station which included everything from "sitting on the dock of the bay" to "Piano man" plus some new soft rock. I actually still listen to the station.

my mum played me blondie in the womb and listened to stuff like maiden and bon jovi, jethro tull alot too and fleetwood mac, my dad liked pink floyd, the rolling stones, the eagles, black sabbath. i got into all of them. can't remember how i got into guns 'n' roses but someone introduced me to them at a young age too...

My dad was into Metallica and Ozzy. I can remember blaring Metallica while driving to the lake in our topless Blazer, lmao. Good times.
And lots of Madonna and Blondie from my mom. Oh, and Kiss. My mom was a member of the Kiss Army half her life, haha.

My mother was a total chart freak , she listened to anything.

One minute it was glam rock , then disco , then electropop, she also listens to a lot of classical & brass.
My dad was really into 50s rock n roll , but hated Elvis.

I think I must have been one of the few kids to grow up without a Led Zep , Stones , Beatles or Pink Floyd album in sight.

I had exposure to everything when I was a kid , not just a bunch of dinosaur rock bands,
