Saying homophobic characteristics have influenced her decision is nothing short of wrong. I believe Soft Cell was the pick bearing in mind that Marc Almond was a complete shirt lifter so what does Marilyn Manson have to do with it?

I also agree, Manson seems to have "tainted" his version. I like the feel as well!

Yeah MM has kinda given the song that haunting and sharp edge. Easily the most enjoyable of the 3 in my opinion.

Marilyn Manson. Easily. One of the only singles I ever actually bought. even though I hate the guy that song was great.
