Gloria Jones. This is a clear cut case of the 1964 original being the best.
A rare Soul classic by the wife of Marc Bolan.

If it wasn't for the fact that an English Northern Soul DJ had'nt found a copy of Tainted Love lying on the floor of an American record warehouse and picking it up as an afterthought on his way out, then this tune may have been lost forever.

I have to agree with right track. I thought I'd heard a lot of music, but I just downloaded 14-15 songs, from the Northern Soul genre, and Tainted Love is one of those songs. It has a raw energy and underlying desperation that is missing from the other versions.

Gloria Jones, hands down.

BTW, right track, I can't thank you enough!!! This is good stuff! I am not familiar with the artists and titles yet, but after my first listen, I am very excited about this. Kudos!!
