Here we go again with emotion.

EVH isn't just technically better. Hes more original and hes certainly top ten material on influence alone.

And for the record. EVH and Malmsteens guitar styles have virtually nothing in common.

If you're going to petition to my de-modment, then please don't lie about stuff like insulting new people because they don't like what I like, and half my posts being about hating zeppelin. Aside from that, go ahead and complain to the admin, complain to the others mods, make a thread with a poll and rally a gang of Crowquill haters, I don't really care.
Ethan, you don't like zeppelin?

Buy i love zeppelin

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that John Frusciante is my favourite guitarist ever... even if I've probably already posted that.

For me, he is on another level of guitar playing. I listen to a shitload of music, but I always go back to this guy and his minimalist approach.

Of course his work with RHCP is good and he had some nice funk guitar going on during BSSM. But there is a lot more to him. Apart from his popular solo albums, he had some 'drugged up' ones - one of these (Niandra Lades & Usually Just a T-Shirt), despite being a bit inaccessible, is really great - definitely my favourite stuff from his solo career.

Also, his work with in Ataxia (a fairly minimalist band) and his contributions to the Mars Volta are good as well.

Tony Iommi for me.

My list would also include Satriani, SRV, Kirk Hammet, Johnny Marr, John Squire, Jimmy Page and as soon as I click post reply I'll probably think of another 5 or 6!
