I think The Skatalites and Dag Nasty get enough credit as is.
Everyone says The Skatalites' self-titled is the only c.d. you have to get if you want to hear REAL ska.
Dag Nasty, they're just a HUGE name in emo.
I was going to say The The, but yeah, they could definitely use a little more credit.
They get really high album reviews and all, but aren't too popular in mainstream culture.

I can see how that's probably so. I'm not into emo (in the 80s we just called it punk), but I can see how Dag Nasty probably does get a lot of credit within the genre

Simply not true, and you would be surprised how influential they've been outside the realm of Jamaican music.

Prince? Really? You don't think Prince gets enough credit?

Prince gets plenty of credit for being a pop star, but as a guitarist and blues/gospel singer/songwriter? Not at all.

Yeah, I can't see how they wouldn't.

I'm adding Deep Purple, MC5, The Byrds, and Tool to my list.

Deep Purple is a fun band that definitely doesn't get enough credit. When do you ever hear anyone talk about how great a guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is. You would be surprised at how much of an influence he's been on a lot of contemporary guitar players.

I don't know, I don't think I'd be that surprised seeing as how I just stated my opinion of them being really underrated.
