Utterly derivative Hard Rock from 1990 that belongs to an era five years earlier but it is still a great Rock record with great tracks that I had on cassette for years, lost and only managed to find this week after searching for a few years.

I still think this track is Rock class!:

^ Class find there Lee. Where was it, buried in the unholy depths of a car seat?

Two recent ones I'm glad I obtained-

Pure Reason Revolution - Amor Vincit Omnia (2009)

Second album from the 21st century's supposed heirs to Pink Floyd's throne. Hated this last year because I was expecting something more traditionally prog. rockish, but after picking this up again today I find myself admiring the change in direction -- the male/female vocal harmonies, Pink Floyd spaciness and grungey guitar lines are still quite noticeable, but there are just as many moments that remind me of Justice or Clark or whatever commercialized dancey electronica gets your feet tapping. Strange mix of ideas, but the final result is interesting.

Hence, this is recommendable in equal measure to both those who don't think prog. does anything new and your whoever your current girlfriend might be.

Fates Warning - Inside Out (1994)

For Metallica, the time to give their metal a bit of radio marketability came in 1991 with their black album. For longstanding 80's prog-metal originals Fates Warning, on the other hand, the time to break out ot a larger audience was 1994 with Inside Out. Needless to say, I think this is some of the finest pretentious metal stuffz from the age of grunge and Brit-pop that I've had the pleasure of running across. Catchy, convoluted and utterly kicking - just how I like my 90's metal.

I thought it might have been, that's why I replied, thinking it might jog your memory because I couldn't remember for sure.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I finally found this:

Warren Zevon's collaboration with REM, so expect it in my Journal on Warren when it's turn comes!

Jaga Jazzist - A Livingroom Hush

Their latest effort is really enjoyable so I figure it warranted their earlier works a listen
