Such amazing albums. You should Leprosy. That's an awesome album, too.

I have Death's entire discography on CD, a few t-shirts, and I nearly got the logo tattooed on my leg, I am well versed in their albums, the bands they came to be with, and the bands they have inspired. I only downloaded that Cynic album because I just found out I didn't have it anymore on my hard drive.

Symbolic is my favourite death album, mostly because it features Gene Hoglan on drums and nobody drums better than him (not even that guy from Rush).

Lucky son of a gun. I've only got three. I think Death albums are out of print now; that really pisses me off. My local music store only had one copy of Human left and I got it. That made my day.

Used stores, pawn shops, and eBay, that's how I got mine. I remember the day I got Scream Bloody Gore, I was at my used CD shop where I bought all of my first metal albums and I saw the end label and the band name and album title. I was intrigued so I pulled it out and looked at the album art and like any 14-year old metal head, thought it was the coolest thing ever. The guy at the counter saw it, asked me if I had ever heard of the band before and when I responded no, he gave it to me free of charge.

edit:

I read somewhere on a blog that Death CD's are going to be reissued by Relapse Records over the next few years, so that might help you find them.

1. That is awesome. Free Death cds. Only in my dreams.

2. Relapse is a good choice. I buy stuff from Hydra Head and Relapse mostly. Two very good labels.

Hyrda Head
Relapse
Nuclear Blast
Century Media
Music For Nations
Candlelight
Roadrunner

Those are some of the labels my favourite bands are on, but I don't really pay much attention to them anymore unless I'm looking at their roster and who has new stuff coming out. Also I just read that the long-awaited second Control Denied album may be out in December, which is such a perfect way to end a year of great metal albums

Zs - Arms

Zs is a band that Last.FM has been recommending me like crazy. It also shows up on Extra Life radio, Tyondai Braxton radio and Kayo Dot radio, so it should be a good album.

EDIT: It's also very Kayo-Dot-esque, just ten times more hectic and minimalistic. I approve.

Kno - Death is Silent (2010)

First time I've heard Kno rapping since 2003's Southernunderground by CunninLynguists and it is a welcome change. Definitely one of the best hip hop albums of this year.

Kevin Devine - Put Your Ghost To Rest

Lovely peaceful acoustic player, a bit on the soppy side but he makes me relax.
