Daniel Johnston - Songs of Pain

Daniel Johnston - Yip/Jump Music

Daniel Johnston - Hi, How Are You

Daniel Johnston - 1990

It's fair to say I'm looking forward to it, I've heard Songs of Pain and I like it a lot.

Not sure if there's anyone who gets down with raga music/tabla beats, but Zakir Hussein is pretty nifty

What other Patton projects have you heard besides Zu and Mr. Bungle? Cause if you like the experimentation of Zu you definitely might like Fantamos and Faith No More.

I've been meaning to get into Fantomas and Faith No More, and I'll probably get some of their albums downloaded tonight.

Fantamos - The Director's Cut (2001)
Faith No More - Angel Dust (1992)

Those would be my two recommendations, but if you enjoy what you hear on Angel Dust then grab King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime.

I went through a serious Fantomas craze 2 or 3 years ago. I'll admit that due to the abruptness of their songs it's not THAT insane of a thing to accomplish, but I had like 4,000 scrobbles of Suspended Animation in a month or two.

PRESS A BUTTON. A B C D E F J.....

dundundundund e ECKECK...

Pretty fun stuff to listen to every once in a while, even though it's gimmicky.

I downloaded a Liquid Liquid EP just now; quite interested to see how they stack up to the other no wave that I've heard.

Does Patton even do vocals on that Zu album? I think he only performs on one track and I didn't realize it was vocals (certainly not singing, from what I recall).

And yeah I second LoathsomePete's FNM and Fantomas recommendations (The Director's Cut is where it's at for Fantomas). Love me some Tomahawk too. I also think his Crank 2 soundtrack is pretty great, though I don't listen to it much. Sounds like I should toss that on the iPod for later this week.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
