Spose - Preposterously Dank

A friend of mine from up North told me that this guy was pretty good, and that he was Maine's top hip-hop act two years in a row or something of the sort. I decided I'd have to check him out.

He's not the best rapper I've ever heard, or even top 10 for that matter, but he's pretty interesting. Far more self-deprecating than most rappers I've heard. Decent flow. It's a lot about drugs and all that, as can be expected by the title of the album and such, but it was pretty refreshing after a lot of the garbage hip-hop that people had gotten me to download earlier in the week.

Here's on of the tracks that stood out to me on the album:

Spose - God Damn

Pretend You're Happy - Pretend You're Happy (2008)

Get this album. It's really nice poppy indie rock.

EDIT. Forgot to say that this album has some weird stuff sprinkled all over it

Secret Shine - All Of The Stars
One of the original shoegazing crop that i've overlooked. They reformed for a while a couple of years ago and recorded this album. There's some great songs on this album however there's also a few that fail to grab my attention, and the vocals on some of the tracks don't sound quite right. But 'Another Day' is a really beautiful song though.

Secret Shine - After Years
This is a compilation collecting their early material. It includes their only other studio album Untouched and the Greater Than God EP along with some early singles.

This Mortal Coil - Blood
This is a really good album. Even though half the of the songs on this huge 21 track album are covers the band really make them their own and they slot in seamlessly with the originals. As you listen to the first handful of tracks you get the impression that this album is a bit all over the place but as the album unfolds you really start to admire the ambitious artistic vision that this album has. There's some really beautiful, minimal songs on this album.

Love it! Found it in a webshop for 12 dollars. Bought it rightaway.
On vinyl, of course
