Gorgeous instrumentation, amazing dynamic, also really depressing. It's very hard for me to imagine listening to a song like that and not finding it an least distinct sounding.
I re-listened to that track... I just don't get it...

@RVCA

I can maybe understand if you can't get into Soundtracks that easily, but The Great Annihilator is easier to digest, especially since you already love their new album. The next stop is Love of Life and White light from the mouth of infinity, both more accessible than those two you couldn't get into. Maybe you should try those.

He was weaned on Linkin Park .. give him a break.
Anyway, you saw Swans on their current tour right? They're coming here next month.. I should go.

The last thing I got is Alva Noto's Transform but that's for the other thread.

Whether you like it or not, surely you can at least recognize that it has structure and melody and isn't simply "dissonant noises that fade in and out", right?

Yeah I was oversimplifying, but it was still unpleasant and uninteresting.

Ah, you wound me man. You wound me.

Ah well, honestly if not even that song does it for you, you probably just aren't going to like Swans. I don't have the new album but from what I hear it's more like Angels of Light than Swans anyway. So maybe the Gira stuff you should actually be checking out is Angels of Light instead.

Bought these on vinyl:
