Mister Heavenly - Out Of Love

A really interesting sounding album so far, I'm still trying to decide what I think, but Thorburn and Honus Honus play off each other surprisingly well despite the hugely contrasting styles of Islands and Man Man. Plus Doom Wop is just a fascinating genre concept.

Just listened to some samples of this album. I am so utterly confused that I must download it immediately. Thanks for the tip.

Got these on vinyl today at a record fair.

The Breeders - Pod (1990)
I only had The Last Splash so I felt the need to get this when I saw it. It's hard to compare it to The Last Splash after only one listen but it seems just as good, although some songs did tend to sound a bit samey.

The Psychedelic Furs - Mirror Moves (1984)
Despite the terrible and dated artwork this album is pretty good. I was already familiar with the songs 'Heaven', 'The Ghost In You' and 'Highwire Days' from their All Of This And Nothing compilation but there's plenty of good album tracks as well like 'Here Come Cowboys'. Although there's one or two filler tracks it's a solid enough album.

I also got a vinyl copy of The Blue Nile - Hats which sounds even more amazing.

I don't know why but I always find noise & soul to be a good combination.

Cliched but very listenable old school rock with a stoner tinge. Saw them last week and they introduced themselves like this: ' hi we are from Finland and we have barely performed outside of Finland. We are old farts so have a listen to this' and they then stomped their way through Black Sabbath's Wizard. Quality.
Have a track:

Rival Sons 2011 E.P. Led Zep rip offs but they sound good.

I lost touch with the Metal scene in the mid/late 90's to my own detriment. Terrible album cover but it's what's on the inside that counts and this is a cracking melodeath album.

Gomer Pyle - Idiots Savant. Monkey 3 with vocals which is a good thing. Stoner Rock meets Space Rock. Easy on the ears and all the better for it.

Can't you tell I'm on a Rock tip this week?

After watching this wicked bike video, I looked up the song and grabbed the album. Really enjoying it!

The last things I got were The National's discography and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco. I mainly like Alligator and Boxer from the National, and YHF is a fairly cool record so far.
