That took me by complete surprise, but it was a happy surprise. When it jumped into the enormous rif***e of part II, it was basically what I was expecting: deliciously blackened death/doom. The whole album was wonderful. However, they could have skipped the death growls and stuck with the screams, they sounded much better. That's just my personal opinion though, you may think otherwise. Anyway, I'll be paying attention to an metal you post from now on, I can tell you're a man of tastes... better tastes than my own, that's for sure
The screams are all placed at the most powerful moments of the album, so I can see why you may think the way you do. I don't think the album would have been hurt much had they not included the growls also, but I think it all helps to make the bizarre entanglement of styles work and to make it, of course, completely devestating. I mean, this is one of the most evil sounding, desperate albums I've heard and it's all captured beautifully. Theres really nothing coming close to catching this for my favourite album of the year.

The Auteurs - New Wave

Listened to this earlier and I remembered just why it is one of my favourite albums ever.

^ Amazing album.

Jessamine - Jessamine (1994)
I was looking for this album a while back and now I've found it on Spotify. It's fuzzed-out space-rock with some krautrock influences. Fans of Bardo Pond will like this band.

Stagnant Waters - Stagnant Waters (2012)
A completely bonkers avant-garde metal album from this French/Norwegian band. Think black metal as made by a bunch of spastics with everything including the kitchen sink thrown in. Sounds interesting at first however it does get a bit samey and a tiny bit irritating after a while.

This sounds really good. Well, except for your last sentence.

Pretty cool sleazy electroclash album from 2004 that I seem to have missed out on first time around.

Probably my last album of 2012, unless Deltron 3030's Event II drops sometime between now and the 31st. This is one of Justin Broadrick's (Godflesh, Jesu, Techno Animal) side projects and features a couple other electronic musicians whom I'm only slightly familiar with. In any case it's a industrial noisy dub album that sounds like the perfect antithesis to the Holiday crap music I have to hear every time I go to the store.
Listening to this at the moment and quite enjoying it so far.
