I know I definitely listened to Sunset Mission. My memory is a little too hazy to recall the other album, but something about the sax gave the sound a little too much of a 'noire' feel for my particular tastes.

A fair bit of music by Yusuf Lateef, a great jazz musician who just died. Wonderful fusion music.

an unfortunate one time collaboration between Aaron Edge (Roareth, Rote Hexe, Hauler, etc.), Tad Doyle (TAD) and Mike Scheidt (YOB, Vhöl).....at first listen it really is a damn near perfect sludge/doom album.....slow building and crushing chords....desperate and misanthropic bellows....and even some Sunn0))) inspired ambiance....

but when you find out the story behind the collaboration it becomes even more doom riddled
INTERVIEW: Aaron Edge & Mike Scheidt of Lumbar (Plus Track Stream)
just read it there

a definite choice for any and all doom fans here....and it has Tad Fuckin Doyle on it!
Thanks for posting this, it's a great album.

I bought Park Jefferson's Weekdays on Bandcamp today. I think it's pretty solid (how can you go wrong with only 5 tracks, anyway), and the guitar interludes are awesome.

Just downloaded Darren Criss' "Human". It might be 5 songs only, but it's pretty good from what I'm listening.

Totalselfhatred - Totalselfhatred

Some great atmospheric black metal, if you can tell by the name they have rather uplifting themes.

First album of 2014, been waiting for this one for months. Still not on vinyl, so I got the cassette version.
