^ I remember dipping into this guy`s stuff a while ago, Psy-Fi; a nice mellow tone, but tbh I found his sound a little tame, a little dated, you know, not like his haircut...

My latest enthusiasm probably sounds dated too:
Boz Scagg`s self-titled album from 1969 has the singer and Duane Allman producing a top quality blend of blues rock and Americana. Thanks to Rostasi and Necromancer for this one.

Amebix - Arise (1985)
A very enjoyable crust punk album. It almost seems like the soundtrack to some sort of gritty, ugly post-apocalyptic world, where lawlessness is rife and the new government that has assumed power can't be trusted.

Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence (1987)
A solid Bay Area thrash metal album. For some reason I like my thrash with a distinct American rasp and this ticks the box nicely. It's cleanly produced while still capturing all the raw energy of the band. Still trying to get my head around the fact that their drummer was only 14 when this was recorded, fucking nuts.

It's funny, I was just listening to that album the other day after not having heard it in a few years. It really is good. I also sort of feel predisposed to like them simply for the fact that they were so young and were all cousins. There's something really endearing about that.

The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle - Bruce Springsteen

I was bummed that I couldn't get a ticket to the Springsteen concert a couple of weeks ago at which they played this album in it's entirety, so I bought the CD but haven't listened to it yet. I'll have to wait until the post-sold-out-concert-I-couldn't-go-to blues have passed.

Great album but the second side is far better than the first imo: NYC serenade, Rosalita and Incident on 57th Street --- aw yeah!

I also like the way Springsteen looks like some drifter or criminal on the cover: definitely NOT a guy you'd bring home to your parents, unlike he on the cover of "Tunnel of love"...

Well that's interesting, cause I just bought this.

Slayer is kind of sort of growing on me...as is thrash metal in general. Of the four songs on the EP, Haunting the Chapel is easily my favorite, though the other tracks are still pretty good.

Wait you like Springsteen too?? I thought 90% of the people here never listened to him.
