Six Organs of Admittance - Hexadic (2015)

So this is quite a bit different from other Six Organs of Admittance releases, and honestly I think that's for the better because this is hands down his best album yet. A lot of the music almost sounds like something off of a Fushitsusha record or some kind of Keiji Haino collaboration with the chaotic electric guitar frequenting the scene. There's also some very interesting blends of Sir Richard Bishop-esque classical guitar combined with experimental jazz and ambient influences. This album was apparently based off of an aleoteric card system called the Hexadic system developed by Ben Chasny. This is a great album, definitely my AOTY so far behind the new Coin Coin record.

Found a store selling used CDs and vinyl today. 'Twas a nice surprise. Bought these on CD:

Mötley Crüe - Dr. Feelgood
Joy Division - Still
Run-D.M.C. - Raising Hell

Listened to a lot of really good stuff today.

Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - A Year With 13 Moons
Some incredible and breathtakingly beautiful drone.

Jesus the Carpenter/Trouble Salad Split (Unreleased)
Looking forward to this one when it's complete, going to have a lot of interesting tracks.

Six Organs of Admittance - Hexadic
****ing brilliant stuff, highly highly recommended to Nintales and Machine especially. Gooflesh will probably get a kick out of it too.

Public Image Limited - Second Issue
Dank and you know it. Turned my sister onto PIL today and had to celebrate.

Pandit Kamalash Maitra & Trilok Gurtu - Tabla Tarang - Melody On Drums
This is some incredible percussion music that is, as the title suggests, very melodic.

Alio Die & Lorenzo Montana - Holographic Codex
These two musicians are incredible together. They blend dark ambient with noise soundscapes and IDM passages. It's really it's own animal and it almost reminds me of something that I'd make if I had these guys' equipment. That's definitely a compliment because comparing something to myself is pretty much the highest honour something can receive.

Gang of Four - What Happens Next
Pretty underwhelmed tbh but it's decent for the direction that they've taken. Showed it to my sister and she liked it a lot more than I did, so I think I've found her bday present (which is tomorrow).

The Pop Group - Citizen Zombie
Love this record. Go check that **** out.

Volor Flex - The Exclusives

Trash.

@Frownland I heard about that Six Organ If Admittance album but didn't have a chance to listen to it, so I'm definately going to give it a listen soon hopefully. Also that Jefre Cantu-Ledesma album sounds like some th ing that I'd really be into as well. And PiL is always a good listen.

P.S - Really anticipating that split coming up I've heard a few of the Trouble Salad tracks and it's sounding good.

Björk - Debut
The Dodos - Visiter
Purity Ring - Shrines
Mac DeMarco - Salad Days
Panda Bear - Young Prayer
Animal Collective - Feels
Father John Misty - Fear Fun
Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do
Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes
World's End Girlfriend - Hurtbreak Wonderland
Erik Satie - Satie - After the Rain - played by Pascal Rogé
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Trout Mask Replica
Erik Satie - Satie: Piano Works (Selection) - played by Klara Kormendi
Elizabeth Cotten - Freight Train and Other North Carolina Folk Songs and Tunes

Not done listening for the night. Currently listening to Unwound - Fake Train, and considering listening to Coil - Scatology and Igor Stravinsky - STRAVINSKY: The Firebird / The Rite of Spring.

Taking a break from full albums after that for the rest of the night considering I've been listening to mostly new additions to my library for 15 hours straight. Dunno how I fit that many full album listens into that time frame.
