You assumed I went that way and went to go find me.

The Sky of Mind by Ray Lynch

never been that big on lynch - he's tended to be a tad on the "kitsch" side of new age that Im not big on. And really, this has it's fair share of cheese as well. But this one benefits from being a little less obtrusive than a lot of his other releases. I wouldn't say I love this one, but there is certainly more good than bad.

Meshuggah—The Violent Sleep of Reason
Haven't listened to the whole thing yet but it seems pretty good. If you dig Meshuggah's distinct brand of mechanistic, polyrhythmic metal you'll probably like this album. If you don't, you probably won't. It was recorded live in studio as a band instead of bit by meticulous bit like almost all their other albums though so it does have somewhat of a rougher edge than their other releases.

I did a review of it in my journal. Wasn't a fan.

I've heard good things and can dig some obZen but it gets a little monotonous. I'd like to hear that with some edge, I'll give it a listen.

King Dude - Sex

i honestly think this his his best....he has really managed to capture a nice sleazy appeal on this album.....growing into album of the year contender.....a must for all of you gothic country fans....a must for all of you really....its just a damn good album

and on the other hand

Helmet - Dead to the World

i'm not sure if it's just because i can't let go of how amazing and influential Strap It On and Meantime were on me...or if i'm a little influenced with the **** talking on them in Color of Noise.....but they really lost me on this album....overly polished with little to no resemblance of that amazing original sound....i feel like a close friend killed himself

Oh, I didn't know he had a new one out. I'll have to get that.
