Did any of you guys catch the recent Prog Britannia documentary on BBC Four? It was really long and just got me listening to prog alot again, not sure but it might still be up on the BBC iPlayer website. Tastefully produced and had some great footage, interviewed everybody; particularly noteworthy was the segment at the end with all the talking heads giving their views on the death of the genre and the rise of punk, they seemed pretty grounded about it.

It pointed out the obvious that had not occurred to me that albums like 'Close the the Edge' were SO far out for 1972 and owed nothing whatsoever to rock n' roll (except the amplified instruments haha) even though all these guys were originally R&B/jazz/beat/psych musicians who loved pop music as much as their classical
