^^The 80's had the greatest contrast in quality between mainstream and underground music. Some of the lowest of the lows and the highest of the highs are there.

too early to rank the 00s too. give it some time. and ranking decades seems kind of dumb. who can really claim to have a solid grasp on everything from a particular decade?
