The Magnetic Fields Ornette Coleman Dave Holland Don Cherry Andrew Hill Sam Rivers Miles Davis Chet Baker George Hamilton Billy Joel Lester Young Love those are all pretty much very mellow sounding groups, moms like mellow.

why not just get her an album by one of the prior bands you listed if you know she likes them?
