Yea that last track by undisputed truth is very good. And Urban Hatemonger i found your RHCP comment funny because it is true. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of that in there music now. It sounded a good deal like some BSSM though.
All in all the compilation was good, a few really good songs, but some were just average funk/rock.

He should have left out the refrain and added more solo's or jamming. I don't know, i'm picky about my funk.

Yeah I did, I have to be honest though, as much as I love funk its a very stagnant (socially) music. It sounds very 70's, its about 30% racial oppression stateside as far as lyrics go. Its something I noticed and I didn't want to repeat what people above were saying but Undisputed Truth is absolutle brilliant.

Oh well absolutly. I mean the contribution that funk made to music is undisputed. The issue is its a very hard line to walk, and thats why there aren't many good funk bands. All to often funk songs spill too far into jazz or soul and it takes the funk out of it.
I mean as damn foolish as I don't wanna bump with no fat women anymore is, its undisputed funk. And Funk to me was always the brother of rock music. Less about how technical the music was and all about how it felt. You need to feel both with your soul and if you dont it comes off terrible. But the updated versions of it, what they call "white boy funk" certainly makes the transition to the contemporary worth it. Prince is a monster, Beck's Midnight Vultures is brilliant, and I can't say enough for whats its done to indie.
